A sworn translation is a translation with official content and is valid for authorities in Brazil and other countries.
Governed by law, sworn translations fulfill an important need in official situations such as foreigners’ marriages, students’ transfer to universities, divorce decrees, proof of experience for employment in another country, etc.
The entity responsible for the selection of sworn translator is the State Chamber of Commerce. Therefore, after passing a public exam sworn translators receive a registration number and their translations become official public documents. These translations contain stamps, watermarks, signatures and are presented on official paper.
Prices for sworn translations are fixed in a price table issued by the Chamber of Commerce. The unit of measurement is a standard page containing 1,000 characters without counting spaces (or 180 words).
Talent works with a team of sworn translators that are members of ATIESP and ATPRIO (Translator’s Associations), all regularly performing their translation duties.
